Day 3
Spent the morning on a guided tour of Diocletian Palace in Split followed by afternoon in Trogir. Split is a busy cosmopolitan sea port with quite a few big cruise ships in the harbour. Consequently the sites were busy too and we had crossed commentary on the headsets from a nearby Chinese group! But was interesting and informative, followed by ice cream and an in depth exploration of Croation toilets. I may be able to publish my report.
Trogdir too was a pretty and quaint, tiny island town with narrow cobbled streets. We were very lucky with weather today as storm last night cleared away the clouds and left beautiful blue skies. But the highlight of John's day, even more than the ice cream, was 15 - 20 minutes spent watching manic Croatian drivers and scooter riders negotiating a busy T junction with no road markings!
Finished the day with a boat trip up the river next to the hotel but as a deep gorge was quite chilly and I needed a hot shower to recover.
Fab photos, I especially like the ice cream ones! xxx
